This last year with Mimi has flown by so quickly and has been so much fun. She is such a funny little bug and has so much personality that it’s hard to believe that that it wasn’t too long ago that she was just a sleepy (not-so) little bundle.
Yesterday we gave Mimi a little birthday cake. She loved it.
It’s hard to believe that Mimi will turn one in about a week. The days are whipping by so quickly.

Some years I send out a Christmas card, some years I don’t. But since this is Mimi’s first Christmas I wanted to send out a card even though time-wise it’s cutting it a little close.
So yesterday I plopped the kids into their matching Christmas jammies and tried to capture the magic. (Previous years’ photos here and here.)
Let’s just say that getting a nice photo of both kids was harder than I anticipated. I ended up with a few decent shots but it was only by bribing E with a lollipop (at 9:30 in the morning) and by using some creative cropping. C’est la vie, I guess.

So Mimi, while continuing to be totally adorable and easygoing during the day, has been waking up two or three times during the night for about the past 6 weeks.
And it is WRECKING me.
I have some fun posts planned but first I need to clear this fog from my head.
Lately Mimi has been going gaga over N. Her personality is really starting to shine and she is quickly wrapping him around her little finger.
Yesterday after church I walked into the family room and saw this:
I couldn’t help exclaiming “Awww!” which promptly woke her up. Oops.

Our recent visit to WA was the first time my parents got to meet Mimi. What can I say?–They were smitten.
My sister-in-law Gwyn made these sweet embellished onesies for Mimi. Aren’t they cute? My favorite is the sweet narwhal.
This is the quilt that got me off the fence about trying to make a quilting. Aren’t the fabrics beautiful?
My mom has been into quilting for a decade and has made my babies beautiful quilts but when my friend and neighbor (and Kristen Bell lookalike) Stephanie made Mimi this quilt I started thinking that that maybe I could make a quilt too. My mom’s retired but Stephanie has an insanely-packed schedule and I thought that if she could find the time to make a quilt then maybe I could too. Plus like a good friend she volunteer to help me if I got stuck. 🙂
I’m really looking forward to finishing my quilt when I go home.
