This breaks my heart. Crazy, no?
The other thing I learned from this is that I am obviously not disciplining my three-year old in the most efficient manner. Unfortunately, The Dear Leader seems to have it all figured out, though.

This made me laugh. It also made me grateful not to be out there in the singles scene. (Speaking of, our anniversary is coming up next month–TEN YEARS! Woot, woot!)
I remember a scene similar to this in the trailer to one of the Final Destination movies and it totally stuck with me. Whenever I’m driving behind a truck with lumber or things sticking off of it I get nervous that something like this might happened.
(FYI, probably not for young kids unless you want to spend a lot of your time in the car reassuring them that no, nothing like this will happen to them.)
Yay for spring! The weather is gorgeous and I’m looking forward to hanging out with N and the kids this weekend. Highlights will most like include staying in my pajamas for far too long and watching my church’s semi annual conference on tv, tidying up my closet, and taking E on a fun outing. I’m looking forward to it all!
On a totally unrelated note, here’s a little video that reminds me why I love dogs. (Sadly both E and I are allergic but maybe one day we can get an allergy-friendly breed).
I hope you have a great weekend!
I’m pretty sure there’s some swearing in this video but it’s done in some unspecified European language which adds a certain je ne sais quoi to the whole thing and makes me laugh even harder.
It’s probably only a matter of time before E takes taekwondo; it IS in his blood, after all. We’ll probably wait until he’s old enough to understand not to use martial arts on his baby sister/Mimi is old enough to fight back though.
Anyway, this video is ADORABLE and also gets extra points for featuring the very catchy Ponyo theme song.
Blargh. I bet this woman is a riot at parties.
I’ve changed my mind about wanting that other camera–this Vivitar camera sounds MUCH cooler.
The funny thing is that you know someone just discovered a warehouse full of these cameras and decided it would be cheaper to make a commercial to try and sell them to seniors instead of finding someplace to dispose of them legally.
Thank you for all the kind wishes, everyone. You guys are awesome.
And now for something completely different:
In case you don’t know, Sandra Lee has a show called Semi Homemade on the Food Network. She specializes in using store-bought ingredients to make gimmicky dishes. Most episodes of her show feature themes complete with elaborate “tablescapes” and crazy cocktails (she’s big on the booze).
It’s not that I’m against using shortcuts: I use a lot of canned tomatoes in dishes and I think cake mixes are God’s gift to home cooks. And in theory anything that gets people cooking at home instead of going through a drive-thru is a good thing.
It’s just that some of her ideas are just plain strange (e.g. the ice cream baked potato).
So…I didn’t get to making a Cookbooks on Trial meal this week…sorry! I was planning on doing it last night but ended up working after E went to bed and by the time I looked up and realized I was hungry it was after 10pm. So N and I had quick salads for dinner which was actually nice.
I normally don’t like to post two videos in a row but I just saw this video over at the Huffington Post and thought it was funny. It’s a parody of those great Old Spice commercials promoting BYU’s library. I spent myself many an hour studying there back in the day (Sadly, it was before they had a “snack zone.”)
