Sink or Swim

It’s frustrating: I have several things I want to post about but work and the ever-ongoing kitchen remodel (along with the kids) have been sucking up all of my spare time.

Right now I’m trying to figure out which of these two under-mount sinks to install. It’s the same price for either of them. I can see the advantage of the 60/40 split (more room to pile dishes!) but can’t decide if it will look off balance.

What do you think? Which would you be prefer to see in a house you were thinking about buying?

  1. kev and I both vote for the one on the left, though I can see the upside of the right one. Maybe it's just what we're used to. Can't wait to see your finished product!

  2. I'd say go with the one on the left, the larger one. I've often wondered why people would want one sink section smaller than the other. I've had that in my second apartment and it drove me bonkers. I guess it's really how you use it and what you're already used to.

  3. Thanks for your input! I posted this same question on Facebook and it sparked a surprisingly lively debate there.

I think we're going to go with the one on the left. I can see the advantages of the 60/40 split for big pots but to bee honest I don't like how it looks lopsided.

It's nice to know that I'm not making an obviously wrong choice. 🙂

  4. We just replaced our sink with on that is 50/50 split, but the disposal side goes down like the one on the right. I like it and the faucet fits nicely in the "indented" top part.
